Job Purpose

The Chedi El Gouna Hotel is looking for a Stewarding Supervisor responsible to ensure that all outlets and banquets are provided with clean work areas, materials, and operating equipment for use in the respective areas in accordance with Company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all outlets and food production areas are supplied with clean, dry, and properly functioning operating equipment.
  • Monitors and ensure that all operating equipment is stored, cleaned, and shelved property to avoid any breakage.
  • Ensures that all machinery is maintained regularly and continually operational. Inform Engineering of any requirements.
  • Is familiar with the operational procedures of all equipment, both mechanical and non-mechanical and ensures that these are operated in the correct manner to ensure maximum efficiency and personal safety.
  • Is familiar with all cleaning chemicals used in the department, their uses, and specifications, Ensures that correct procedures and schedules are followed.
  • Ensures the correct set-up of banquet functions by following the event banquet order.
  • Ensures that all kitchen areas and other back of house food and beverage areas are cleaned to defined standards and schedule.
  • Monitors and control the cost of all operating supplies; particularly chemicals.
  • Supervises the night cleaning staff in kitchen and back of house areas
  • Trains staff on sanitation and cleanliness standards in order to maintain highest standard of hygiene.
  • Makes recommendations to management for any areas of improvement to increase operational efficiency.
  • To be able to provide the guest with information concerning the hotel and nearby sights of interest and importance.
  • Keeps kitchen & dishwashing area, silverware, glassware, and porcelain clean and orderly.
  • Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations established in the hotel’s policy on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
  • Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
  • Ensures that all employees in the department report for duty punctually and wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
  • Maintains good conduct and working relationship with staff in all departments
  • To have full working knowledge and capability to supervise, train, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned place of work according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Attends meetings and training required by the Assistant Chief Steward.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management.


  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship Program, Hotel Management courses.
  • 3 years in a similar capacity in Food & Beverage Department in a four- or five-star hotel.
  • Able to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 4 hours in length
  • Strength to lift tray frequently weighing up to 10 kilos.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluent in the local language.
