The Chedi El Gouna is looking for a Restaurant Hostess responsible for handling table reservations, controlling the flow of guests, and supervising the assigned
station/section. If necessary, they are also responsible for serving food & beverage to guests in a courteous, professional manner according to proper service standards as set by Company.
Key Responsibilities
Stays in contact with the greeters, in order to be ready on time to receive the guests.
Escorts guests to a table, balancing the customer flow among the service sections, taking into account requests for a particular table or section, depending on availability and according to the etiquettes.
Provides menus to the guest once seated and let them know a waiter will soon be helping them. Tells waiter about the arrival of new guests in their section.
Keeps abreast of special promotions and hotel product knowledge.
Assists with the duties of waiters as needed such as taking the beverage order, serving food or beverage items, resetting a table, and replacing chairs, in order to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency
Bids farewell to guests upon their departure from the outlet and invite them to come again.
Performs opening and closing procedures established for the place of work as assigned.
Verify that all menus are in good condition, clean, and tidy, if not, take appropriate actions.
Ensures that the place of work and surrounding area are kept clean and organized at all times.
Attends work on time as scheduled.
Follows hotel grooming and dress standard.
Acquires a working knowledge of the hotel, in-house facilities, and local information to respond to guest questions in these areas as required.
Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
Ability to rotate throughout each of the food & beverage outlets
Knows all safety and emergency procedures.
Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shifts to other shifts.
Monitors operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
Ensures that the working area and station are stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all time
Ensures the smooth running of the assigned station at all times.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety.
Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
Understands and strictly adheres to the Hotel’s Employee rules & regulations.
Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
Performs any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum of the equivalent of a High School Graduate.
One year of experience in a similar outlet, either as Junior Waiter or Waiter.
Flexibility in the scheduling

Knowledge of cashier operations
Knowledge of hotel business operations
Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for a long period of up to 4 hours in length
Fluency in the local language
Fluency in English
Fluency in a third language is a plus
Able to work with Micros and the Table Management System
