Job Purpose

The hotel receptionist is responsible for greeting guests, checking them in and out, answering questions, and providing information about the hotel and its amenities. They also handle administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork and making reservations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and welcome them to the hotel.
  • Check guests in and out, collecting payment and issuing room keys.
  • Answer questions about the hotel, its amenities, and the surrounding area.
  • Provide information about local attractions and activities.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork and making reservations.
  • Resolve guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or front office position.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Skills

  • Bilingualism is a plus in many hotels.
  • Knowledge of hotel software and reservation systems is also helpful.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle difficult guests is essential.
